Planetside free-to-play for a year

Post by Bevan »

I read about this a while ago, but now it's live. You can download and play Planetside completely free until the program ends (March 24th 2007). Players will be able to play pretty much the full game, but will stop gaining experience at BattleRank 6 until upgraded to a full subscription.

A few of us gave this a go early on and it was good fun for a while (I have particularly fond memories of mine and Pogs driving 'skillz' :)), but I think the few of us playing would find it a little frustrating to spend an evening taking bases across a continent, only to log in the next evening and find them re-taken.

Well worth a(nother) look at the current asking price if you're at all interested in massive team based FPS battles :)

Could you put a link to the download URL? These sites are all screwed up when I go in, and I really don't know why

sure thing Hawk, link below. If anyone is going to give it a look, please post a thread on the main forums as I might be tempted for another occasional look too :)

Not my cup of tea tbh so you won't find me playing it, not even if it's for free and I usually cannot resist that ;)

Was a fun game, but got bored with it pretty fast.
If brute force doesnt solve your problems, you are not using enough of it.

I'm downloading it as something to do when the rest of you are tucked up in bed

Definately not my cup of tea but given the cost, or lack of it, I may end up downloading it this weekend if I get bored at any point
AJ.
